Sleeping in the subway
Working people in Japan make long days. You therefore see people in the subway or bus regularly sleeping. It’s very simple to get in and out of your work. But also children regularly take a nap in public transport. English director Nicholas Barker filmed 12-hour sleepers for 12 weeks in the Japanese subway.
The result is the short film ‘Tokyo Dreams’. Winner of the Sunset Film Festival, Los Angeles,. Barker seeks to capture the vulnerability of sleeping people with this movie.
