Bad sleepers are more likely to have a condition
Researchers studied people with sleep problems during REM sleep (deep sleep) at least 15 years before Parkinson’s disease or dementia was detected. These studies have established a connection between people who sleep in restlessness and brain disorders at a later age. On average, it takes 25 years – after determining sleep problems – until the condition occurs. However, this can take up to 50 years.
A previous article on the sleep cycle describes the REM phase, a deep form of sleep in which you dream. Normally, the body is completely paralyzed. However, this is not the case with many people who suffer from sleep problems and / or disorders. Particularly relevant is the sleep problem RBD, or Rapid Eye Movement disorder . Often they depict their dreams in violent movements like strikes and stairs. Also shouting and crunching teeth are drawing. Often your partner (and / or dentist in the 2nd case) will inform you if this is the case. Of the people with RBD, eventually 40% later Parkinson will get!

Here, of course, everyone has a problem, so do not panic immediately. If this happens regularly, you may be suffering from sleep problems or even a sleep disorder , and that would be worth paying attention. This research has made it clear that diagnosis of sleep problems and disorders can be important for the prediction, and possibly the future, of such diseases!
Insomnia could lead to Alzheimer’s disease?
There are indications that a lack of sleep can lead to Alzheimer’s disease. We are talking about chronic sleep deprivation, so longer periods of sleep . These are conclusions from research with mice, so no hard facts. Mice that woke up for a longer period of time made a brain in the brain associated with Alzheimer’s disease. These are the so-called proteins of the Amyloide family. When Alzheimer’s disease develops, these proteins collapse and they bit more to break the brain’s action. The study found that the amount of these proteins increased as the mice were kept awake longer but also decreased when the mice slept. This again indicates the positive effect of sleep.
As I have already said no hard facts but it is definitely an interesting research. However, more study will need to be done to demonstrate the relationship between sleep deprivation and Alzheimer’s disease.
Influence of sleep on man
Fortunately, it is becoming clearer about the effect and effect of sleep on humans. This is also the unfortunate consequence of sleeping problems.
