GENERAL BABY SLEEPING TIPS
How much sleep a toddler or toddler needs, differs greatly per child and per moment. That can be difficult.
Toddlers and toddlers can be so different! The one 3 year old sleeps in the afternoon with ease for another 3 hours, while the other does not need any more afternoon sleep. One thing is for sure, as soon as elementary school is in attendance, it is late in the afternoon.
The trick of toddlers and toddlers is to stay consistent, but to involve them in the decisions.
Do not sleep? Rest well!
How do you deal with the toddler’s afternoon sleep? This can be difficult, especially when it comes to 3 year olds that’s very unpredictable. The one time they sleep well in the afternoon and then not sleep again for a few days.
You are doing well to put your child in bed. It’s not bad if you do not sleep asleep. Rest is equally important. By getting away from the hustle and bustle, your toddler can be back in the afternoon.
Ever out of bed
Toddlers and toddlers have their own will. And they realize very well that life just goes on when they are lying on bed. No wonder they sometimes get out of bed. A solution may be that you promise to come to every 5 minutes. Do that too if your toddler stays in bed.
It does not matter what you do, if you are consistent. So do not rush with sleep time and sleep rituals. Do what suits you best, then you can not do it wrong. But whatever you do, do it every day. That gives a child peace and trust.
Do not negotiate
Toddlers and toddlers can already be very wise and know you in the middle of a negotiation with your 3 year old. “Two more videos and then I go to bed”. Do not start it because the end is searching. Tell your toddler what the plan is. For example: “We read a book together, then I sing 2 songs, then you get a kiss and you sleep well”. Then stay here.
Let your child decide
Do you have a very toddled toddler or toddler? Then involve him in your plan. Definitely together in advance how it’s going to be sleeping rhythm. Your toddler will be very proud because you give him the feeling that he is already big. The chance that he will keep up to the arrangements (and you too!) Is great.
