It’s already 2:00 and you’re still not sleeping, tomorrow’s gotta be really fit for that important appointment, a presentation or a fun day out. You are in a hurry, maybe peeing and frustrating. We all have moments of trying to sleep in a cramped way, but it simply does not work. And especially at those moments when it’s really important to get that good night’s sleep it’s not possible! And that is, of course, very annoying and frustrating! With these 8 tips you will avoid this in the future and you can easily fall asleep .
1. Provide a comfortable sleeping environment
A good basis is extremely important. So create a comfortable sleeping environment for yourself: take care of a comfortable bed, well-darkened curtains, a proper sleeping temperature, and put a window on a tub for the fresh air.
2. Sports not too late
An evening program spinning? You may not be better off if you have to leave early in the morning. Of course, sports are good for you (and for your sleep quality) but it is not wise to do this shortly before going to sleep. Your body is still very active and requires about three hours to cool down (cooling is an incentive to fall asleep).
3. Do not take caffeine before bedtime
Caffeine gives you energy and counteracts the sleeping effect. Do not take this into the evening and stop caffeine drinks in the course of the afternoon. No coke, coffee and energy drinks!
4. Look no further on your mobile
Look at your mobile phone , tablet, or computer for an hour before bedtime. The blue light emitting these devices has a negative effect on sleep. Additionally, turn off your devices while sleeping, so that you are not disturbed by the sounds of incoming messages. Better yet … ban all these devices from your bedroom!
5. Relax before sleep
Instead of checking and answering the last mail, you can better take care of relaxation. Make the hour before bedtime your hour. Dim the lights, read a book, go to a bath, do some breathing exercises or do Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation technique). This way you go without stress and relax to bed ! What can help with this is to follow a regular evening ritual to prepare your body for sleep.
6. Crawl with your partner between the sheets
Especially men are extremely tired after sex . An orgasm releases sleepy substances that act as a natural sleeper . Women do not get free, but they can also help to fall asleep because they are so relaxing!
7. Turn off your alarm clock
Are you eating up inside of yours because you’ll see you later and later on your alarm clock? This does not totally encourage you to fall asleep. You only get stressed. Turn off your alarm clock. (But make sure you can hear him the next morning). Keeping you awake outside snooze reach helps you to stop (slightly forced) snoozing and easier to stand up . You have to turn off your bed or turn off that air alarm.
8. Reset your body
Are you constantly joking and wandering in bed? Then step out and reset your body. Go to something you do not have to think about: take some drink or read a piece from your book. Step back in bed within 15 minutes. That’s how you set your mind aside and you do not constantly think ‘I have to sleep NOW’.
