8 Tips for sleeping with cold
1: Sleeping environment
Your sleeping environment is very important. First, ensure the right temperature in your bedroom, the ideal sleep temperature is about 16 to 17 degrees. So do not heat the heating! Also make sure that the bedroom is well dark. If you’re not feeling well, you’re gonna irritate yourself with little things. Try to minimize it by closing yourself well from disturbing noises, lights etc. Frisbee and clean linens and a nice pillow can not be harmful either!
You annoy yourself to little things sooner
Make sure your upper body and head come up slightly so that pressure on the sinus is illuminated. This will make your airways more relaxed and make it easier for you to breathe. Do not do this by simply adding an extra pillow to your normal pillow! Then your chin pushes your chest and this just limits breathing.
For most of us (who do not have an electrically adjustable bed) a large pillow often works well, one where you can lay up with your entire upper body, or even with your shoulders. The best way to build a kind of pyramid-like construction with multiple pillows is to put them together and half past one. Your shoulders should be supported and ideally, your beautiful pyramid of pillows will look in thickness. In this way, your entire upper body will rise slightly so that your airways are released. Not the means to do this, then rather lie on the side than on the back.
3: nasal spray
You can use a saline nasal spray. This is simply purified salt water. (You could possibly do this yourself too). Such saline solution also has no harmful impact on your body, no nasty side effects, but you can rinse your nose perfectly!
Good stomach before going to sleep makes miracles. Most people do this by filling a bowl of hot water and throwing some vicks of vaporup or crystals. Then you will hang over a minute or ten with a towel over your head.
Drink a lot during the day, which helps to hydrate nasal cavity and throat.
Drink before going to bed to drink a hot drink (without caffeine / tea). For example, herbal tea with honey, or hot water with honey. This also helps to open your nasal cavity and soften your throat.
Keep a glass or bottle of water at your fingertips while sleeping to drink some water at any nightly cough.
suck before sleeping on some hard candy to moisten the throat through saliva production.
Sweets because it must be always good!
7: Grandmother’s tip
Put a sliced onion next to your bed … can stink in your room, but it will make your airways clear!
8: Medicinal use
Limit drug use, and if you use medication please pay attention to the locks. Certainly when using different medicines. It may be that different medicines have similar ingredients and you do not want to get too much of certain ingredients. Also sleeping pills are not recommended during a cold, so you have extra trouble getting up in the morning. If you have frequent sleep conditions , do not take them in combination with medicines for the cold.
