There has already been a lot of research into the effects of poor sleep. It is also known to most people that a sleep shortage has a negative impact on health. Bad sleep not only has adverse effects in the long term, but also in the short term. The consequences are already noticeable after one night! In this article, I give you examples of some negative effects of sleep deprivation that you can directly bother with.
6 short-term consequences of poor sleep
Insufficient sleep has a direct impact on your ability to focus. In addition, you are forgetful because sleep is very important for storing events in your memory.

Sufficient sleep is important for your immune system. During sleep, certain dusts are created that counteract infections, inflammation and stress. In case of sleep deprivation of these substances, insufficient production of antibodies is insufficient. Often cold ? If you sleep less than 7 hours, the chance of a cold even seems to triple.
Studies show that you are hungry when you have not slept and are tired. You do not only have more urge for food, but especially for fatty and carbohydrate-rich foods. A study at Harvard Medical School has shown with brain scan that sleep deprivation makes the emotional center in your brain up to 60% more responsive. This allows you to relate emotional events less well and thus react “emotionally” to events.
You can already notice the above effects after one bad night. You may now be able to check that too little sleep will cause even more severe consequences over a long period of time. You can expect another article later.
