Happily, more and more attention is paid to sleep and sleep problems , and in the mobile era we live in, it is therefore not surprising that there are handy sleep apps on our smartphones. There are several types of apps that can help you analyze your sleep behavior, apps to sleep better and / or enjoy your wake up. Below, I’ll list 4 of these handy apps for you.
This is a very nice app that I have used for years now. Sleep Cycle is an intelligent alarm clock that analyzes your sleep pattern and wakes you up when you are in a sleepy sleep. This way you wake up as naturally as possible and feel more relaxed than when you get out of sleep! In addition, Sleep Cycle offers nice alarm sounds and a lot of statistics to analyze your sleep.
I myself use this app especially to wake up at the right time and to see how good (or bad) my sleep quality score has been that night, but it is also possible to do in-depth analyzes of your sleep behavior over a longer period period by entering conditions, for example, before going to sleep. Consider whether you have drank alcohol , have had a meal, have eaten late or have experienced stress that day.
In addition to Sleep Cycle, there are some other alternatives that are widely used and high scores in the app stores including SleepBot and Sleep Time . These apps offer a free version and are both available for iPhone and Android. The Sleep Cycle app costs € 0.99.
Do you snore or do you want to find out if you snore? (and how hard you’re going to get exactly). Then this sleep app is a good tip! SnurkLab is an app for recording and tracking your snap. This way you can find out if you snuggle when you snuggle (maybe only if you have drunk), and how hard you snuggle.
The app gives you a snurc score and you can compare it with other users. Are you an above average snurker? Or has your complaining partner been so badly not affected by this app?)
If you try to fix snoring, for example, using resources, a treatment or an anti snoring program, this app will give you the opportunity to test if a tool or anti snoring program really works. This app is available for both iPhone and Android and has a free version.
A Sleep app of Dutch soil. Sleepcare is a collaboration between research groups at Utrecht University and Delft University of Technology. The project is supported by Philips, the Stichting Technische Wetenschappen (STW) and the National Initiative Brain and Cognition (NIHC).
SleepCare is based on existing therapies given by psychologists. The app does more than just keep the sleep pattern up and users really need to get started with sleep restraints, relaxation exercises and their sleep hygiene.
This smart alarm clock uses light to wake you up in as natural a way as possible. A nice alternative to that striking sound of your current alarm clock! This smart alarm clock generates you by gradually increasing the brightness of your screen for 30 minutes – before your alarm clock really goes off. During awakening, the app can play bird sounds to wake up just a little more enjoyable. If you do not wake up, the sound is getting harder to wake up and you will not lose weight. An ideal way to start your morning relax! A free version is available. The premium version costs € 1 and allows the app to be personalized.
Do not disturb your sleep by your smartphone! The apps also work when you put your mobile on airplane mode. This way, you do not suffer from incoming messages or Wi-Fi that negatively affect your sleep quality.
