Free available sleepers
Not everyone with sleep problems goes to the doctor, and even if someone does, he or she does not just prescribe sleep medication . Many people try the homeopathic remedies that are freely available. When you enter the drugstore, it appears that a lot of sleepers are available. These “natural” sleepers should promote the night’s rest. But do these resources really do anything for you? The three most common sleepers (or constituents of) are melatonin , valerian and chamomile . These three occur in themselves as sleeping aids, but also combined. But what do they do?
Melatonin is a body-like hormone that is often referred to as sleep hormone. This hormone causes us to get tired and sleep well. A major influence on this hormone is light. If it gets dark, your body will automatically create it for the night that comes. As a result, we usually sleep sleepily in the evening. Melatonin production stops again during the night and when the light begins, your body begins with the formation of watch hormones, giving you fresh and fruity, and especially awake, the day (yup, the biological clock ). Melatonin makes you own! But why is this also available as a sleeping drug? And is it necessary to swallow this extra? In my view, it is unnecessary, at least, that should be because your body can regulate it yourself.
However, melatonin is widely used as a sleeping drug. If your sleep rhythm is disturbed and your own production of melatonin does not work as it should, then it is possible to take melatonin as a supplement. It is also often used in a distorted biological clock, for example by jet lag or alternate work in night services. How to use it depends on when your body normally melatonin.
The use of melatonin can also confuse your body. You are going to work something natural, to manipulate some kind of thing. I would advise you to always consult a doctor before starting this. Let you advise on dosage, time of ingestion, and whether it is appropriate for you. What you should also keep in mind are the possible side effects.
Side effects of melatonin pills
That’s a lot of hope. Possible side effects include mental complaints, including restlessness, drowsiness, mood swings. Other side effects include headache, stomach and bowel problems, hot flushes, rashes and muscle cramps. The list goes on for a while, but the genes you do not want to miss are sleep problems . From a sleepy feeling to early in the morning, waking up too early. This is because you yourself determine the ‘extra’ melatonin amount instead of allowing it to be regulated by your own body.
What is valerian? It is not body-like but a herbal remedy. Its operation is described as mildly restful. It is therefore mainly used for stress, nervousness (for example, exam stress) and sleep problems. It could make it easier for you to fall asleep by the light-soothing effect. But it is not known how it works exactly and it often does not work with everyone.
Side effects valerian
You can get some side effects. The most common are stomach complaints, nausea and abdominal cramps. Because valerian is a herbal mixture, it is not yet well researched as other means. This means that there is also little known about side effects in the long term and what it does to you with long-term use.
Chamomile is also not body-like. It is a plant that occurs in the Netherlands in nature. It’s a kind of do it yourself. My grandmother calls her everybody. Chamomile has been used for years in tea, homeopathic medication and oils. This because of the therapeutic effect that the plant would have. The action of chamomile is light anti-inflammatory and slightly disinfectant, it can also give a light-relaxing effect on the intestines and stomach in, for example, abdominal pain. It would also be soothing. Therefore it is also often processed in tea, for example.From a cup of camilla tea you should come to rest easier to fall asleep. However, this has not been proven. So you actually take a cup of tea or a tablet of herbs whose operation has not been proven.
Side effects of chamomile
There is actually hardly any side effect of this plant. In case of hypersensitivity you may have skin rash and itching. It’s a benefit not harm it’s not a means.
Are sleep remedies a solution?
All in all, these homeopathic remedies are not immediately a solution to your sleep problems. And they are often cheap too! But what does it work like? The best way to get rid of sleep problems is finding and tackling the real cause and tackling your sleep problems in a natural way.Sleeping devices do not address the cause of sleep problems and will not solve them either.
